Aaron Davis had three loves: family, friends, and food. Each were part of the narrative of his life and part of his passion.
As a talented and popular chef at downtown St. Pete’s The Kitchen, Aaron had many friends and many satisfied customers.
As a father, he beamed with pride whenever he mentioned his wife, little girl, or baby on the way; it was those three he was rushing home to see in the fateful early hours of April 11th when - as he was crossing a street downtown - a drunk driver hit him, ending his life and hospitalizing his friend, Brian Lee LaFrance.
Since then, there has been a sense of emptiness amongst family, friends, and so many others in the tight-knit St. Pete community. Many have been asking, “What do we do now?”
While there are no easy answers, there has been an outpouring of prayer and love for Aaron’s wife, little girl, and - as of April 14th - newborn son Andrew.
Part of this support has come from friends, relatives, and strangers, but Jannus Live wants to take things a step further, so this Friday, May 1st at 6 p.m., Jannus Live will be hosting United We Rock Benefit Concert for the Davis family and Brian Lee LaFrance.
Featured talent will include a sweet fusion of ska and reggae-rock found in UNRB, The New Rulers, Freelow, and Taylor Davis, which will serve as openers to St. Pete reggae funkmasters Offshore Riot, who will close out the benefit.
Admission to the event is free, however there will be a silent auction with a multitude of eclectic prizes. 102.5 The Bone will be auctioning the opportunity to be producer for a day on the Drew Garabo Live Show and also an opportunity to co-host “The Cat Named Mo Show.” Various other auctions will feature the opportunity to stay in some of the Bay area’s most luxurious hotels and/or receive great deals and rewards at local restaurants and businesses.
Donations will also be gratefully accepted at the benefit. To learn more about how to donate to the Davis family, click the links below.
