This lavish new stage production of The Sound of Music, directed by Jack O'Brien (Three-time Tony Award® winner, credits include: Hairspray, The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Coast of Utopia) returns to Ruth Eckerd Hall for the first time since 1996 to celebrate both the 50th Anniversary of the acclaimed film (the most successful movie musical in history), as well as the 2013 NBC television production, “The Sound of Music Live” (seen by over 44 million people)! The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the Von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with such songs as “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and the title song.
