Tell the world about why you are passionate about chimpanzees and your plans to celebrate the species this coming World Chimpanzee Day. Use the hashtag #WorldChimpanzeeDay to join other leaders around the world in this very important action to raise awareness about our closest cousins in the animal kingdom and the global issues that are threatening their survival.
This year, we are celebrating all the fascinating reasons chimpanzees are so special. Did you know that chimpanzees have a unique form of communication using vocalizations? One of them is called a “pant-hoot," a greeting each chimpanzee uses to say “hello!” Chimpanzees can also learn from one another and develop individual cultures. Beyond these truly amazing behaviors, chimpanzees play a vital role in their ecosystems as seed dispersers – they are known as the “architects of the forest.”
Raise your voice to #GiveAPANTHOOT for chimpanzees.
