Playwright Showcase - Tapestry: A Weekend of Socially-Conscious Storytelling

With a cast of 25 actors, 19 women, and 4 men, Tapestry is a weekend of five original plays written by Tampa Bay playwright Deborah Bostock-Kelley. The weekend features three short one-acts and a full-length on Saturday night and a full-length play on Sunday evening. Each Saturday short 10-15 minute play tackles a socially conscious and/or controversial subject including TTYL: mother/daughter relationships, Cradle Robber: adoption thwarted by homophobia, and my body. my voice: Roe V Wade. #NotOneMore is a one-hour full-length play that takes an unflinching look at bullying, sexual violence, mental health, a school shooting, and the connection and trauma of the survivors left behind.

On Sunday, the 2022 Runner-Up for Broadway World Tampa Best New Play or Musical, Breast Advice, will return to the stage in a revised version. Breast Advice was called "the Vagina Monologues for boobs" in its workshop at Powerstories Theatre by the late theatre critic Joseph Parra. It comprises honest, funny, and serious monologues about breasts curated from social media. The setting is two busy, crowded dressing rooms with the casts preparing for a show.
