Summary: Responsibilities include reading tickets, making orders, broiler, ensuring all items are made correctly, communicating with other cooks, prepping product as needed, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, performing clean up duties, assisting other staff members, counting prepped product
 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

  • Set up station
  • Prep any product needed
  • Read all tickets
  • Prepare and coordinate orders
  • Communicate with other stations and expeditor
  • Make food orders and ensure quality food
  • Keeps area clean
  • Set up and break down all equipment used
  • Adhere to uniform policy and maintain a professional image
  • Adhere to safety standards using cutting gloves and wearing non-slip shoes
  • Assist other staff members

 

 

Skills:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Be able to meet cook times, follow recipes with accuracy and make a quality presentation
Familiar with a multitude of kitchen tools such as a whisk, steam tables, mixers, tongs, salamander, knives, spatula, plates, griddle, oven, broiler, burners, pans, towels, cleaning solutions, can opener, scale, measuring utensils, scoops, ladles, spoons, microwave hot plate, broom/dust pan, mop, water hose, squeegee, biotherm, ticket slide, fryer, etc

Education and/or Experience

A minimum of six months in a line cook position, training is provided to qualified candidates
Good communication skills both verbal and written
Ability to communicate different levels of staff Food Handler certification is preferred

Other:
The noise level in the work environment is high
The environment is generally hot
Must possess the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the function is mostly standing for long periods of time. The employee must be able to regularly walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
