MEOW Now's mission is to humanely reduce the free-roaming cat population in Pinellas County by providing targeted Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return, caregiver support, and advocacy.
TNVR stands for Trap – Neuter – Vaccinate – Return. TNVR has been shown to be the most humane, most efficient, and least costly method of stabilizing community cat populations. Community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated against rabies, and returned to their colonies to live out their lives.
MEOW Now believes that TNVR programs only work when cat colonies are managed, with registered colony caretakers who ensure the cats have adequate food and shelter, and who monitor the health of the cats.
