It's been a few months since we've heard about the former BayWalk location - now the Shops at St. Pete - in Downtown St Petersburg. And now, we've got the news that the first batch of new tenants have been announced for the newly remodeled shopping and dining complex.
Deals have been made to keep exisiting BayWalk tenants including the Muvico movie theater, Chico's, and White House Black Market, but those are the only remnants of the old BayWalk that will remain at the Shops at St. Pete, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Newcomer stores will include clothing company, Island Co.; eyewear outlet, Luxotica; and lingerie shop, Soma Intimates, the Journal reports.
When it comes to the dining side of things, the Shops at St. Pete will house a “Two Iron Chefs” restaurant concept as well as a coffee and desserts shop presented by New York restaurateur and Food Network personality Donatella Arpaia. Tentative deals for the Shops at St. Pete include J. Crew, Epicure, and J. Con Salon and Spa, according to the Journal.
But, The Edwards Group, the Rick Baker-lead organization which owns the complex, is decidedly mum on the topic of its new tenants.
“Are there some letters of intent and deal memos done? Yes, but nothing happens until a lease is fully executed," Edwards Group Managing Director, Joe Jimenez said to the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
We'll keep you posted as more news arises regarding the new tenants at the Shops at St. Pete, their opening dates, and more.
