ICON Central is a 15-story apartment building with 377 units coming to Downtown St. Petersburg at 801 Central Avenue just north of 1-75 sometime in 2019. In addition to its residential offerings, the new apartment complex will have over 34,000 sq. ft. of commercial space on the ground level for retail stores and restaurants. Construction is slated to cost over $80 million, and the project includes upgrading the original Union Trust Bank building, which was built almost 100 years ago in 1926.
ICON Central luxury apartments will offer an array of top-notch amenities including a club lounge, outdoor movie lawn, indoor Zen garden, and a pool on the first floor. There will be plenty of covered parking for guests and tenants including 625 parking spaces in the garage as well as storage for over 400 bicycles for resident use.
Located in the heart of Downtown St. Petersburg, ICON Central is just steps away from a Rays game at Tropicana Field. Great food options surround the apartment complex as well including Ferg's Sports Bar, Hofbrauhaus St. Petersburg, and Red Mesa Restuarant. For beer lovers, ICON Central is also within walking distance of some amazing local breweries including Cycle Brewing, Green Bench Brewing Company, Cage Brewing, and 3 Daughters Brewing. For those intrigued by the arts, the Chihuly Collection and State Theatre are nearby.
ICON Central is latest project from The Related Group’s ICON brand headquartered in Miami, FL. Additional ICON branded buildings are located in Harbor Island (Tampa), Atlanta, and Fort Lauderdale. ICON Central will offer studio apartments as well as one, two, and three-bedroom units ranging from 678 sq. ft. up to 1,448 sq. ft. for the three-bed/two-bath units. The apartment complex will also provide 1,600 sq. ft. townhomes for those needing a little extra space.
Pricing at ICON Central will range from $1,600 per month up to $4,000 for the townhomes and top floor units featuring water views. Tampa's ICON Harbor Island has 340 units, but the city's new 400-unit River Manorwalk is slated to be built by mid-2019, and construction has already begun on the old site of the The Tampa Tribune. There's also developing a 396-unit rental community called Town Westshore in the 150-acre West River development.
