Engine No9, the relatively new Downtown St. Pete restaurant and bar located at 1st Ave. N. and 9th St., might just change the way we think about our beloved burgers in St. Petersburg.
Opened late last year in the developing Downtown section farther west of Beach Drive, Engine No9 is the brainchild of local restauranteur and chef Jason Esposito.
Esposito crafted an upscale bar menu that would set Engine No9 away from the local, modern pub pack with a heavy emphasis on creative, gourmet, and tasty burgers. Throw in a comfortable, uncluttered, and relaxed sports bar atmosphere, and you've got a recipe for success that Burg residents and visitors alike have been digging for the past couple of months.
Burgers are the crowning achievement at Engine No9 and they come in a huge variety sure to please a wide range of tastes. Engine No9's burger menu features selections like the Chili Burger topped with house made chili and shredded jack and cheddar cheeses; the Black Flag featuring Cajun spices, blackened and topped with pepper jack cheese and fire roasted red peppers; and the One Bad Big with garlic pork, white cheddar cheese, mustard braised onions, and pancetta.
Engine No9 also offers a variety of craft beers and all the big sports games on TV's.
