Meatless Monday: Serendipity Cafe
Just before you enter downtown Dunedin, there is a small cafe filled with a magical menu for veggies and carnivores alike. Serendipity Cafe, whose slogan "where healthy meets delicious" couldn't be truer, prides itself in not only providing an array of veg-friendly options, but even a menu with zero high fructose corn syrup, MSG or gluten. And for those in your bunch who do eat meat, there's is free of antibiotics and hormones, so everyone can eat with a better peace of mind.
Whether you want eat in or take away, the cafe, which is family owned and operated, this spot isn't to be missed. Our pick from this mega menu? The Veggiepalooze Wrap, made with "every veggie in their kitchen", tossed with your choice of dressing and cheese or hummus. Our vote? Try it with their homemade lemon tahini dressing and hummus. The final product ends up being a filling and tasty veggie pick. It came with a side of coleslaw, which they've even made vegan!
But the fun doesn't stop there. This spot also has kombucha on tap, so don't miss out on the healthy soda-alternative. We tried their cranberry which was tangy and sweet, and even nabbed an organic ice green tea to go with us to the beach.
Either stay in and have a chat with the friendly staff, or take your meal to go and visit the causeway, just minutes away! With a view like this, maybe Mondays aren't so bad after all!
