This July has been standard issue 2017, which is to say hotter than Mount Vesuvius during a heat wave. The one positive in this situation is the refuge many Floridians take every summer—the beach! Thankfully a brand-new, fresh way to cool down opened in Madeira Beach with Thai inspiration! Here to save us from the heat, welcome Mr. Ice Cream, a new and unusual ice cream shop.
Now I know what you’re thinking. What makes this new pop-up shop so unique? Well, the answer lies in creation and presentation. The staff at this extraordinary store pours liquid ice cream onto a cold tray kept at 20 degrees Fahrenheit. They then begin to spread and work the cold cream using spatulas until it starts to freeze. Smashing it into a thin layer, they roll and mix in favorite ingredients and finish by dressing your masterpiece with favorite toppings.
This Thai inspired trend in ice cream is rolling across Tampa Bay as new shops open like Icesmile in North Tampa, and Snobachi Handcrafted Ice Cream in Ybor City.
The process allows for unique flavors like Cookie Hunter to Exotic Strawberry Oreo! There are plenty of toppings to choose from, think fresh fruit to Teddy Grahams.
Thai ice cream is not only something to play with; you create, each dish a unique piece of art, gone in a matter of minutes. Could this beautiful new way to experience ice cream become your next new summer tradition? Grab family or friends and roll on over to Mr Ice Cream, for a unique new treat in Madeira Beach!
