Tampa Bay’s seventh season in the USL Championship starts off at home on Saturday, March 11 as the Rowdies welcome Indy Eleven to Al Lang Stadium. The Rowdies played host to Indy in last year’s home opener, notching a 2-0 victory over the visitors.
All but one of Tampa Bay’s 17 home matches in 2023 are set to be played on Saturdays. The Rowdies’ matchup against the Charleston Battery on Wednesday, April 12 is the lone weeknight match scheduled at Al Lang this year. Several Western Conference sides will be making their first-ever trips to Al Lang this season – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (Saturday, May 27), Sacramento Republic FC (Saturday, June 3), New Mexico United (Saturday, June 10), and Monterey Bay FC (Saturday, August 12). This will be the first competitive meetings for the Rowdies versus Sacramento and New Mexico.
This year, the Rowdies will face off with each USL Championship team at least once. They will battle each of their 11 Eastern Conference foes both home and away, while also squaring off with each Western Conference club once. This will see the Rowdies make their way to Orange County SC (Saturday, March 18), San Diego Loyal SC (Sunday, April 23), Rio Grande Valley FC (Saturday, May 20), and El Paso Locomotive FC (Saturday, June 17) for the first time. The Rowdies Rowdies are also slated for an away fixture against last year’s USL Championship Final winner San Antonio FC at Toyota Field on Saturday, September 16.
Tampa Bay’s regular season finale is likely to have ample playoff implications as they hit the road to play their opponent in the last three Eastern Conference Championship Finals Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium on Saturday, October 14.
All kickoff times will be confirmed at a later date. Most of Tampa Bay’s home fixtures will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the 2023 USL Championship Playoffs.
